Scott Laws CPA is a Manager in Tax Services at DMJPS PLLC. He holds a B.A. in Math from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was an Academic All-Conference student athlete, and, a Master of Science in Accounting from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where he was member of Beta Gamma Sigma honor society.
At DMJPS, Scott focuses on tax and business consultation services to a variety of industries for individuals, corporations, partnerships and trusts, especially small to middle market privately-held companies. He provides business valuations and compilations for both individuals and companies, and is highly respected for his skillful and analytical approach by both clients and colleagues.
Prior to joining DMJPS, Scott worked for Dixon Hughes Goodman LLP as well as for a small public accounting practice providing taxation services to a variety of industries. His career also includes teaching at Owen High School and Madison County Middle School in the math and science departments. After graduating from UNC, Scott was a professional runner, traveling throughout the country.
In his free time, Scott enjoys running, traveling, and volunteering in the community. He and his wife, Sara, regularly participate in Asheville’s many festivities and local events, including various charitable runs.
